'Alice in Wonderland;' SEF’s Carnival Night & Ice Cream Social; New Support Group for Kids
Here are five things you need to know Feb. 22 to Feb. 24.
1. Lakeland High School Presents 'Alice in Wonderland'
The Lakeland High School drama club Wig 'n' Whiskers presents its winter showcase, "Alice In Wonderland" this weekend only. Performances Friday, Feb. 22 and Saturday, Feb. 23 at 7:30 p.m. Click here for more details.
2. Register for SEF’s Carnival Night & Ice Cream Social

The Somers Education Foundation's Carnival Night & Ice Cream Social will be held on March 1 from 6:30 p.m.to 9 p.m. at Primrose gym and cafe. Admission allows kids to play carnival games and win prizes. Ice cream included for all. Pizza and other concessions will be available.

3. Hudson Valley Hospital Center and Gilda’s Club form New Support Group for Kids
Gilda’s Club and the Hudson Valley Hospital Center announced the formation of a new support group called Wednesday called “Kid 2 Kid,” which gives children ages 5-12 a safe, supportive environment to discuss how cancer has affected their lives. U.S Rep. Nita Lowey was in attendance during Wednesday’s announcement.
4. Book Blast at the JV Mall
The Jefferson Valley Mall's Book Blast is on Saturday, Feb. 23 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. An origami specialist will be teaching origami. Bring a new or used book to the event to be donated to Family Services of Westchester.
5. Chance of Snow This Weekend
According to the National Weather Service, we could expect some snow this weekend. Here is yoru weekend forecast:
- Friday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 36.
- Friday night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 30%.
- Saturday: Rain and snow, becoming all rain after 2 p.m.. High near 38. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
- Saturday night: Rain before 11 p.m., then rain and snow between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m., then rain, snow, and freezing rain after 5 a.m. Low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
- Sunday: Rain, snow, and freezing rain before noon, then a chance of rain. High near 40. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
