Summer can become stressful for the high school seniors looking for the perfect college, but our student writer had a word of advice. The Yorktown Pirates beat the Scarsdale Mets in a double men's senior baseball league duel. We also posted the tentative town board work session, which was later changed. Assembly seat candidate Steve Katz announced a reform plan to be further discussed at a press conference.
Tuesday July 27After the county introduced new voting machines, read about what would happen to the old machines. The musical 'Grease' was playing at the Yorktown Stage and we brought pictures and a review of the cast's performance. We had the final work session agenda before the town board meeting later that night. Six girls, which played on the gold winning Hudson Valley girls' hockey team at the Empire State Games, were on a winning roll at home against Briarcliff. Incumbent Congressman John Hall announced bid for re-election.

The town board discussed several matters on the agenda during their short work session. State Senate candidate Greg Ball announced his "Write In" opportunity to ballot in the race.
