Elaine Gardner, Longtime Yorktown Resident, Dies at 85

From Clark Funeral Home: Elaine Gardner, a business owner and long-time Yorktown Heights resident, died on Feb. 11. She was 85.
Gardner was the owner of Rolaine Fashions in Yorktown Heights from its opening in 1958, until her retirement in 1980. She was born in 1927 in the Bronx to the late Sol and Hanna Unger.
She was a member of the Yorktown Jewish Center and a well-known Bridge player throughout Westchester County. Gardner will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her baking and sewing, her love for animals and for being a life-long fan of the New York Yankees.

Gardner is survived by her only son, Stephen L. Gardner of Yorktown Heights. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Gardner, in 1992.
