Kindergarten Registration, Updated Schedules, Sweet Treats and More
Here are five things you need to know today, Jan. 7.

1. Register for Pre-K and Kindergarten
The Lakeland School District will be holding Kindergarten and Universal Pre-K registration today from 9 a.m. to noon in each of the district's five elementary schools. Registration packets for Pre-K and Kindergarten need to be returned, completed, during the week of Feb. 7.
2. Sweet Treats

Kids can Celebrate Valentine’s Day at the with "yummy stories" and make a sweet treat. It is designed for kindergartners through 2nd grade students. Registration has already begun for the Tuesday, Feb. 8 event at 4 p.m.
3. Updated Snow Make-Up Days

Lakeland Superintendent of Schools posted an updated message on the district's website about what days students would be required to attend school. To view the schedule, click here.
The Yorktown School District have also announced their snow make-up days in a letter to parents sent by Florence O'Connor, Assistant Superintendent of Schools. April 18, 19 and 20 will now be regular instruction days.
4. Yorktown BOE Meeting
The Yorktown Central School District will meet today at 6 p.m. in the Mildred E. Strang Middle School cafeteria. On the agenda are discussions about the BOCES Project, proposed calendar for the next school year. The Mildred E. School officials will present "good news." For the full agenda, click here.
5. Ethics Board Meeting
The Ethics board members will meet today from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Town Hall Board Room.
