Lake Mohegan Fire District To Hold Vote To Buy Fire Truck
A special election in the towns of Yorktown and Cortlandt will be held to approve the purchase and refurbishment of fire equipment.
YORKTOWN, NY — A special election to approve the purchase of a fire truck will be held in the towns of Yorktown and Cortlandt.
On Feb. 23, the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Lake Mohegan Fire District passed a resolution authorizing the purchase of a 2023 Seagrave Pumper and refurbishment of Ladder 35, a 2003 Smeal Quint, in the amount of $1.25 million to be financed.
Fire officials said the borrowing of funds for this purchase is subject to a mandatory referendum and must be approved at a special election by taxpayers residing in the fire district.

Residents of the towns of Yorktown and Cortlandt will be able to vote Wednesday, March 29.
Polls will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Jefferson Valley Fire Station, 500 Lee Boulevard in Jefferson Valley.
