Nicholas J. Santucci, US Postal Service Sign Maker, Passes Away at 85

Nicholas J. Santucci of Mohegan Lake passed away on Feb. 22. He was 85.

Santucci was born in the Bronx on March 29, 1927 to Dominic and Vincenza Maselli Santucci. He served honorably in the US Navy during WWII. He later worked for the US Postal service as a sign maker retiring in 1985 after 35 years of service. He married Mary Verde on Aug. 18, 1951 in the Bronx.  

The man was an avid painter of landscapes and nature, did woodworking as a hobby and another favorite past time was being with family, sharing stories and enjoying his Italian demi-tasse coffee. He will always be remembered as a beloved husband to Mary, loving father to Deborah Burke, Maria Ryan and Dominic Santucci, devoted grandfather to Nicole Ryan, Stephanie Ryan and Matthew Ryan. Predeceased by his brother Frank Santucci.
