Obituary: Thomas Joseph Flynn Dies at 80
The Putnam Valley resident served the United States Army during the Korean War.

From the Yorktown Funeral Home: Thomas Joseph Flynn "Poppy" of Putnam Valley passed away on Nov. 9. He was 80 years old.
Flynn was born in Yonkers on March 22, 1932 to Thomas Joseph and Frances Flynn. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Korean War and married Claire McGrath on April 14, 1955. Flynn was retired from United Parcel Service where he was a valued employee for 30 years.
The man is survived by his wife of 58 years Claire, two daughters Donna McHenry and her husband John and Barbara Freda and her husband Fiore, a sister Ethel Rehder and step brother Donald Flynn. Also survived by five grandchildren Sean, T.J., Brendan, Katie, Brian and one great granddaughter, Molly.

Flynn was a life long lover of music, the ocean, wildlife and the New York Mets.
Friends may visit the Yorktown Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral service Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Rosehill Memorial Park Chapel. Interment to follow at Rosehill Memorial Park Cemetery.
