Peekskill Man Drives Without License, Causes Crash: Police
Authorities said the man was passing another car illegally on the right which caused a crash.
YORKTOWN, NY — A northern Westchester man was accused of driving without a license after he was in a car crash.
Police said Steven J. Freed, 33, of Peekskill, was charged Jan. 27 with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and improper passing on the right, a traffic infraction.
Around 11:20a.m. Jan. 27, an officer was sent to a car crash on Front Street.

An investigation identified Freed as one of the drivers, and a routine driver’s license check found he was driving while his license was suspended, police said.
Authorities said he also passed illegally on the right which caused the crash.

Freed was arrested and processed at the scene and released on his own recognizance.
He is due back in Yorktown Justice Court Feb. 16 to answer the charges.
