Police Blotter: Underage Drinking Party, Thieves Caught, Man Streaks at High School

Police activity for the week including a man streaking at the high school, an underage drinking party, burglary under investigation, domestic dispute, and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Woman Punches and Kicks Another Female

Police arrested an 18-year-old Peekskill female and charged her with third degree assault, a misdemeanor, after she police responded to a domestic incident report at an East Main Street residence on Nov. 5 at 2:13 p.m. Officers O'Rourke and Nadoraski were dispatched. The victim said her girlfriend threw her on the ground, punched and kicked her causing physical injuries. Police did not release the name of the defendant due to her eligibility for possible youthful status offender. She is due in court on Nov. 9. 

Warrant Issued for Man Failing to Honor Terms of Probation

Police arrested Jonathan Fantano, 24, from Mahopac on Nov. 5 at 9:20 a.m. Allegedly he failed to honor the terms of his probation following the adjudication of a previous criminal case in the Yorktown town court. On Feb. 9, 2009 Judge Gibert issued an arrest warrant for Fontano. On Nov. 5 he stopped at the Peekskill Police Department for an alleged traffic infraction and a routine Department of Motor Vehicle check revealed the arrest warrant. Officer Madaus and Det. Shanahan responded to Peekskill and took the man into custody. He was released on $160 bail and is due in court on Dec. 2. 

Burglary Under Investigation

Police received a report on Nov. 5 at 1:28 p.m. that a burglary at Baldwin Road had occurred sometime between 9 a.m. and noon. Officer Sansone, Swart, Graham, and Davis responded. There was a forced entry. Police could not comment on what was stolen. The burglary is still under investigation. 

Keep The Peace

Police were called in on Nov. 6 at 8:39 p.m. at a North Ridge Road residence to keep the peace between Katherine Cassese and her husband, who was there to pick up his children's belongings. The woman is .

Man Gets in Trouble Twice in One Day

On Nov. 6 at 3:50 a.m. police responded to a domestic incident at a Hitching Post Lane residence. A man reported that his son tried to stab him. Officer Matthew Iacona and Gary Fister responded. Robert F. Chirurgi, Jr., 23, was arrested on the scene and charged with third degree assault, a misdemeanor. He was due to appear in court on Nov. 9.

That same day at 11 p.m. police received a call at 7/11, on Commerce Street. Police were requesting assistance for a subject, the same person, in custody for altercation in progress. Officers Noone, Madaus, Garcia and Getner responded.

Man Streaking at Lakeland High School 

On. Nov. 7 at 6:55 p.m. police received a call that a man was naked from the waist down at Lakeland High School. Allegedly, the man had talked to three 13-year-old children, telling them to get in his car and that he would not hurt them. 

, 34, from Mahopac was drunk and has been charged with with exposure of a person, a violation, as well as public lewdness and endangering the welfare of a child, both misdemeanors. 

Passenger Tries to Get Out of Moving Vehicle?

On Nov. 8 at 11:06 a.m. police received a 911 call that a passenger in a moving vehicle attempted to exit the vehicle at the intersection of Kitchawan and Chadeayne Roads. The passenger was pulled back in by driver, according to the witness. But the caller's cell phone died, so the police were unable to establish contact.

Gas Stolen From Car, Police Say No Evidence

A woman reported to police on Nov. 8 at 5:37 p.m. that someone had cut off her car's gas cap and the gas was siphoned out of her car, which was parked in the Mall's parking lot, 650 Lee Blvd. The incident she said happened on Saturday, Nov. 6 while she was at work. Police say there was no evidence and no closed circuit television to prove someone had stolen gas out of her car. 

Thieves Caught

On Nov. 9 police arrested Patricia A. Dolan, 47, and David J. Maronza, 43, from Yorktown and charged each one with third degree burglary, felonies. On Aug. 24 and Aug. 26, police were assigned to investigate burglaries at the 4 Seasons Beauty Salon and the Tompkins Garage respectively. Yorktown Police and New York State Police in Cortlandt worked together. After they identified the suspects, they issued them warrants for arrest. The two were located in the Putnam County jail where they were held on unrelated charges. 

Dolan and Maronza were processed in Yorktown and returned to the Putnam County jail without bail. They are due in court on Nov. 16.

Failure to Appear

Police arrested Horacio A. Reyes, 29, from Cold Spring, after he failed to appear in town court, scheduled for Oct. 28, on an aggravated unlicensed operation arrest. Police took custody of Reyes on Nov. 9 at 12:30 p.m. at the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office where he was being held on unrelated charges. He is due in court on Nov. 21.

Unlawful Possession of Marijuana

Police reported that one juvenile was under arrest for unlawful possession of marijuana on Nov. 10 at 1:58 p.m. Officer Michael Kahn made the arrest in the commuter parking lot, 2731 Crompond Rd. The defendant is under 16 years old and the police did not release his name. He is charged with a the crime, a misdemeanor because he was smoking in a public place. 

Underage Drinking Party

On Nov. 10 at 9:19 p.m. police arrested a 17-year-old Yorktown resident who was having an underage drinking party at his Friends Road residence. He is charged with endangering the welfare of a child. There were 25 other kids drinking inside the residence, police said. All parents were notified and came to pick up their children. The male is due in court on Dec. 9.
