Relay for Life: 'There’s No Place Like Yorktown'
Organizers hope to raise $300,000 this year for the research, programs and services of the American Cancer Society.
It's officially Relay for Life season as Yorktowners held a kick off party last week. This year's theme is "There is no place like Yorktown" and organizers hope to raise $300,000 this year for the research, programs and services of the American Cancer Society.
"Yorktown is going on the purple brick road to Oz," co-chair of Yorktown's Relay for Life committee Jane McCarthy said.

Yorktown's Relay for Life, which is now the largest single-community Relay in the tri-state area, began in 2006. Relay For Life which is scheduled for Friday, June 14 at the Jack DeVito Track and Field in Yorktown.
