Somers Man, Brewster Woman Charged with Heroin Possession

Perry Shepard and Jessica Cord, both 23, were arrested by New York State Police. Shepard was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell.

A Lincolndale man and Brewster woman are facing criminal charges for being in possession of heroin, state police said today. 

Perry Shepard and Jessica Cord, both 23, were stopped in the town of Southeast on Jan. 25 at about 12:09 a.m. by state police trooper Robert Lombardi and his K9 partner Dora.

Shepard was found to be in possession of 20 decks of heroin and was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sell. 

Cord was was found in possession of 7 decks of heroin and marijuana, police said. She was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana.

The man was remanded to the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail, while the woman was scheduled to appear in Southeast Town Court on Jan. 31.
