Somers Supervisor: NYSEG Restoration Efforts Continue
A state of emergency still exists in Somers and especially with the snow storm arriving unnecessary travel is prohibited.

(From the town of Somers):
NYSEG’s restoration efforts continue. Approximately 300 homes in Somers remain without power. If everyone around you has power and you do not, make sure that you call it in to NYSEG so they create a “ticket “ for it.
With this new storm coming consider turning your heat up higher than normal to hold the heat in case your power goes out. Do not attempt to touch downed wires as they may be energized.

No one came to the shelter yesterday or today however sheltering at the Heritage Hills activity center remains available to all residents. No food is being served so bring non perishable food if you go. Check in at the Heritage Hills Security office. St. Luke's is not currently offering community dinner. All donations have been donated to a local food bank. Do not travel during the storm. Call 911 for emergencies.

DO NOT operate generators or barbecue grills indoors. This is a fire hazard and introduces deadly carbon monoxide into your home and can be fatal.
Somers Town Court is cancelled for this evening. We will continue update as information becomes available. Thank you.
