The blood drive will be held on Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Somers Intermediate School on Route 202.
Blood supplies are low and your help is needed, Somers Women's Club member Susan Berkow said.
The Somers Women's Club will host a blood drive on behalf of the New York Blood Center on Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the Somers Intermediate School on Route 202.
"It is a community service for a much-needed, vital resource," Berkow told Patch.

To prepare for the blood drive, club members are calling previous donors to ask if they would be interested in participating again; as well as putting up posters around Somers. Volunteers will also work at the blood drive by escorting donors from the donation area to the canteen table and ensure people feel well before they are discharged by the nurse.
The blood drive is whole blood – the waiting period between donations is 56 days for whole blood and 112 days for double red cell donations. Donors under 17 need parental consent to make a donation.
