Monday, September 6

Did teachers do their summer reading? For Lakeland teachers, summer reading is just as valuable as it is for their students, find out what their favorite books were. The Lakeland girls volleyball team prepared for the new season and looks to rebound.

Tuesday, September 7

The Yorktown girls soccer were ready to score some goals in their upcoming season. As Lakeland students started last week, read about a few of the changes the district underwent. If you missed the last summer concert for the season,you can catch up, just read about it here and see pictures.

Wednesday, September 8

As the anniversary of 9/11 was approaching, we gave you a list of places you could volunteer at and help out in your community. Thinking about what to do for the weekend. The Grange Fair was coming to town and we told you about it, in case you haven't heard of the 86-year tradition. A . Lakeland High School announced they received a New York State Sportsmanship award.

Thursday, September 9

The Pines Bridge monument next fundraiser is set for September 15 at Applebee's. Read about it here and find out how 10 percent of your bill could be donated to the monument. An early morning fire damaged a house, but the residents got out with no injures. Supervisor Susan Siegel announced her two alternate plans for the 200-acre Granite Knolls property. A car caught on fire and destroyed a man's '88 Jaguar, but he got out of it on time and did not sustain any injuries. An acting company is bringing theatre to Westchester residents for free at local libraries.

Friday, September 10

The Yorktown boys soccer played a tough game only to lose to Ketcham. We tested your knowledge again of how well you know Yorktown. Read the police blotter about teens jumping off the trestle bridge in Yorktown. The primaries are on Tuesday, so we caught up with Greg Ball and Mary Beth Murphy vying for State Senate.

Saturday, September 11
