Westchester Beauties Cut Ribbon for Restaurant's Grand Opening
Christina DeLeon and Samantha Gold embark on their ceremonial duties after the Miss Westchester pageant.
The first duty of the newly crowned Miss Westchester 2011, Christina Deleon (Yorktown Heights) and Miss Westchester Teen 2011, Samantha Gold (Armonk) was to cut the ceremonial ribbon for The Westchester Burger Company's grand opening.
"We could not have asked for or expected a better start to our business," said Vincent Corso, a co-owner of the new restaurant. "To have both winners of the (Miss Westchester) pageants join us for the opening of the Westchester Burger Company as their first duty was great for the City of White Plains, the girls and also for the Westchester Burger Company."
DeLeon said before the Sept. 7 experience she did not know what to expect .

"There were so many people both inside and outside the restaurant who wanted our autographs or to get their pictures taken with us," she said. "It was a little overwhelming but fun."
"It was crazy," said Gold. "People were honking their horns and yelling 'Good luck' and 'We love you' which was kind of nice. The customers and staff inside were really sweet and the food was amazing!"

The Westchester Burger Company is owned by the same team who brought Graziella's and Blue to White Plains.
"Graziella's, a classic Italian restaurant, was started in 1995 by our mom, Gracie (Graziella DiFeo)," her son Angelo DiFeo said. "She's a little spit-fire at five feet tall and you'll find her in the kitchen putting her final touches to every dish. In 2004, my brother-in-law, Vinny and I opened Blue, an American Bar and Grill over on Church Street."
"This year we came up with the idea to open a gourmet burger place which has turned out to be the hottest thing," Corso added. "Westchester Burger Company offers America's greatest comfort food and our location right off the I-287 exit ramp onto Westchester Avenue is the gateway to White Plains."
Corso said the restaurant offers a burger on our menu for everyone's taste.
Westchester Burger Company offers health-conscious options like vegetable burgers, turkey, tuna and salmon burgers and salads in addition to gourmet beef creations.
"People are looking for fresh food and good service at an affordable price," Corso said. "We listened to our clientele and a new burger was born."
"Samantha and Christina seemed like they really enjoyed themselves," DiFeo added. "It was an experience for all of us. Our customers were so amazed to see this happening right in front of them. It was a delight to see the two Miss Westchesters in our home."
The Westchester Burger Company is located at 106 Westchester Ave. in White Plains.
