Woman Faces Bail Jumping Charge For Skipping Court: Police

The Mount Vernon woman didn't show up in court after she was charged with felony grand larceny, Yorktown police said.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Mount Vernon woman was accused of jumping bail and failing to appear in court.

The Yorktown Police Department said Brandy Boone, 41, of Mount Vernon, was charged with second-degree bail jumping, a felony, and bench warrant for fail to appear, with an underlying charge of felony fourth-degree grand larceny.

Police said, at 6 p.m Dec. 1, Boone did not show up for a schedule court appearance and a bench warrant was issued.

On March 1, the City of White Plains Police Department notified Yorktown police that it had Boone in custody for unrelated charges.

She was placed under arrest by members of the Yorktown department and taken back to headquarters for processing.

Police said it had been 30 days since the bench warrant was issued, and Boone was additionally charged with bail jumping.

She was arraigned in the Yorktown Justice Court and sent to the Westchester County Department of Corrections.

Boone was due to appear in the Yorktown Justice Court March 2.
