Man Steals Items, Makes False Written Statement to Police

An 18-year-old Putnam Valley man has been charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and making a false written statement, both misdemeanors, Yorktown police said. 

While investigating a theft from the Brookstone store in the Jefferson Valley Mall, police said they revealed the teen was in possession of some of the stolen property and had filed a false sworn report in relation to the incident.

The man, whose name police did not release, was released on $1,000 bail and scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 27.

White Plains Teen Punches Phoenix Academy Male in the Face

Police have arrested an 18-year-old White Plains man and charged with with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

The teen, whose name police did not release, was arrested on Nov. 8. He punched a 16-year-old male, a Phoenix Academy resident, several times in the face causing him swelling and bruising to the face, police said. 

He was served with a temporary order of protection and then remanded to the Westchester County Jail on $250 bail. He was scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 13.
