Yorktown Names Class Of 2023 Valedictorian, Salutatorian

Ashley Song will be the valedictorian, and Daniel Sheinin will be the salutatorian.

YORKTOWN, NY — Yorktown High School has named its valedictorian and salutatorian for the class of 2023.

Ashley Song will be the valedictorian, and Daniel Sheinin will be the salutatorian.

Song is a member of the Math Team, Science Olympiad and the varsity girls volleyball team. She plans to study mathematics next year in college, though she hasn’t yet decided where.

Song said she is grateful for the support her family has given her.

“My teachers have inspired me to learn from a wide range of subjects,” she said, “which has gradually helped me understand the world a little better than before.”

Sheinin, who in September was named a semifinalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program, enjoys taking math and computer science classes.

He said his family and friends have been huge motivators in his school career.

“I’m proud that I’ve managed to persevere through some rough patches while maintaining good grades,” Sheinin said.
