There is an opening on the Yorktown's zoning board of appeals and town officials are looking to fill the vacancy.  The Zoning Board of Appeals is made up of five members who are appointed by the town board members for a five-year term. "It is an administrative board with the discretionary power to vary the strict application of local zoning regulations in particular cases of difficulty of hardship," according to a description on the town's website. "The Zoning Board also makes the final determination as to all questions involving interpretation of the zoning ordinance."
