Yorktown Woman Stabs Person In Neck During Domestic Dispute: Police

Police said the woman also kicked in a bathroom door.

YORKTOWN, NY — A Yorktown Heights woman was accused of stabbing someone on the back of the neck during a domestic dispute.

The Yorktown Police Department said Jenny Cuevas, 43, of Yorktown Heights, was charged Saturday with second-degree assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal mischief, misdemeanors.

Police said, shortly after 3 a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a home.

When they got there, officers said they met with the victim who was bleeding from the back of the neck.

An investigation found that Cuevas, while arguing with the victim, grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim on the back of the neck, police said.

Cuevas then kicked a bathroom door, causing damage to the door frame, according to authorities.

She was still at the scene when police arrived and was arrested.

Cuevas was taken to the Yorktown Police Department for processing, after which she was arraigned by a judge who issued an order of protection on behalf of the victim.

Cuevas was released on her own recognizance to appear in Yorktown Justice Court Jan. 17.
