1 Dead, Another Wounded In Pool Party Shooting Near Hemby Bridge
One person was killed when gunfire broke out at an Airbnb party reported to have had more than 200 attendees.
CHARLOTTE, NC — Two men were shot, including one who died, during a pool party attended by a large group of people. Union County sheriff's police early Sunday morning responded to the double shooting near Hemby Bridge and found one of the victims dead, the sheriff's office has confirmed.
Another shooting victim is being treated at Atrium Health. The shooting, according to police, occurred during a pool party "attended by a large number of people."
Multiple shots were fired at the party in the 15900 block of Idlewild Road around 1:40 a.m., according to a WBTV-3 report. The fatal victim was taken to Novant Health Matthews Medical Center before he died, the report states. He was not immediately identified.

The condition of the second man was not known as of later Sunday morning.
No one was in custody as of early Sunday afternoon.

WBTV-3 said between 200 and 300 people were said to have been at the party hosted at an Airbnb.
