Fatal Walmart Police Shooting Under Investigation
The east Charlotte Walmart's security detail called police after a man with a gun reportedly threatened him and law enforcement.

Per standard protocol, two officers are on administrative leave following the fatal shooting of a man at an East Charlotte Walmart on Friday.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say Walmart security called them Friday evening to report a man armed with a gun, threatening to shoot officers.
According to the Associated Press, police responded and found the man to be a "lethal threat." According to police, officers then shot 23-year-old Derrell Lamar Raney outside of the Walmart; he was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

The two officers, James Longworth and Micah Edmunds will be on leave until the outcome of the state investigation into the shooting.
