Heavy Rain, Possible Flash Flooding For Much Of NC: Forecast
Heavy rain could lead to possible flash flooding, state emergency officials warned Tuesday.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A weather moving through the Carolinas is expected to produce heavy rain and a "marginal risk" of flash flooding for much of the state, North Carolina Emergency Management said Tuesday.
"A low pressure system is expected to bring unsettled weather for a majority of this week," NCEM said, via Twitter. The threat for flash flooding will continue along the North Carolina coast Wednesday and Thursday, it said.
"Tropical moisture has spread across the region and will persist into tonight," the National Weather Service said in a hazardous weather outlook bulletin Tuesday. "Areas of heavy rain may develop across the forecast area, especially along and southeast of the Interstate 85 corridor, leading to localized flash flooding."

With lots of tropical moisture spreading in across the region, there will be areas of heavy rain today. So @NWSWPC has nearly our entire forecast area in a marginal excessive rain threat through tonight. Localized flooding will be possible. #gawx #scwx #ncwx #cltwx pic.twitter.com/nkSQpLYSKx
