The governor of North Carolina estimated that Hurricane Florence caused $13 billion in damage.

CHARLOTTE, NC — The governor of North Carolina estimated that the damage from Hurricane Florence will cost the state $13 billion, according to a published report.
Gov. Roy Walker presented his $1.5 billion wish list for recovery funding, according to a report in The News & Observer, which said that there will be a special hurricane-funding session of the General Assembly on Monday.
The hurricane, which had weakened to a Category 1 storm, made landfall at Wrightsville Beach back in September, just east of Wilmington, North Carolina, and near the South Carolina border. The storm packed 90 mph winds and a vicious storm surge.
