I-85 Crash Kills 2, Scatters Mail On Interstate

An early crash on I-85 claimed two lives just before Thanksgiving.

CHARLOTTE NC — A deadly crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. Wednesday on I-85 near Billy Graham Parkway southbound. The interstate was shut down between Billy Graham Parkway and Freedom Drive for hours, resulting in severe delays.

Mecklenburg County EMS, or MEDIC, confirmed that two people died in the crash and one person was transported with life-threatening injuries to a local hospital. The victims have not been identified.

The crash involved a tractor-trailer according to WSOC, which spilled mail on the interstate. The mail was collected and sent to be redistributed.
