Investigation Launched After Fatal Shooting In Charlotte
An officer found two men shot around 2 a.m. in south Charlotte. One of the victims later died, police said.
CHARLOTTE, NC — A homicide investigation is underway after a predawn shooting in south Charlotte left one man dead and another with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, the incident occurred around 2 a.m. in the 7900 block of Nations Ford Road, near Interstate 77.
A CMPD officer near the scene at the time of the incident heard gunfire and began searching for suspects and potential witnesses and victims, according to a police report.

"While searching, officers located two adult males with apparent gunshot wounds," CMPD said. Both men were transported to an area hospital, and one of the victims was later pronounced dead. The other gunshot victim's injuries were listed as non-life threatening, police said.
Police have not yet released the identities of either man.
