1. Charlotte structure fire reveals a body, CMPD says. Investigation underway (charlotteobserver.com) — Charlotte-Mecklenburg police and Charlotte Fire are investigating after a late-night structure fire on Oakdale Road in northwest Charlotte led to the discovery of a body. Homicide and arson detectives are processing the scene, and officials are asking anyone with information to contact CMPD or Crime Stoppers as they work to determine what happened.
   

2. Gunfire erupts on I-77 near Remount Road, leaving one dead and two wounded (charlotteobserver.com) — A deadly shooting on I-77 near Remount Road in west Charlotte left a 20-year-old man dead and two others seriously wounded, according to CMPD. Police say the victims were found at local hospitals, and investigators believe the gunfire erupted along the interstate just after midnight Saturday. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact CMPD or Crime Stoppers.
   

3. Charlotte, NC – Accident on Ballantyne Commons Pkwy Causes Injuries (localaccidentreports.com) — A Friday evening crash on Ballantyne Commons Parkway in south Charlotte sent at least one person to the hospital and briefly backed up traffic in the busy Ballantyne corridor. Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police say the investigation continues as they look at driver behavior and road conditions. Emergency crews cleared the scene after treating and transporting the injured.
   

4. NASCAR Hall of Fame highlights owners in Glory Road exhibit (thecharlotteweekly.com) — Charlotte race fans can now explore “Glory Road: Owners” at the NASCAR Hall of Fame, showcasing 18 historic cars and the team owners who shaped the sport. The refreshed exhibit, updated every three years, spans models from 1937 to 2025 and highlights Hall of Fame inductees behind dozens of championships and Daytona 500 wins.
