Windsor Run Offers Impressive Amenities, Predictable Finances, and Lasting Value
Residents Greg and Beverly Pastuszak enjoy the peace of mind, financial security, and vibrant lifestyle at Windsor Run

After years of managing home maintenance and costly, unpredictable repairs, Greg and Beverly "Bev" Pastuszak were ready to embrace peace of mind, financial predictability, and freedom in their retirement years.
With maintenance-free residences, an inclusive monthly service package, and impressive amenities, Windsor Run, an Erickson Senior Living community in Matthews, N.C., easily checked all of their boxes.
"It's wonderful, no longer having to deal with any repairs and maintenance issues," says Bev. "This allows you to go about your planned activities, whether it be here or outside the community. We are so very happy that we made the decision to move here!"

Predictable costs
Windsor Run's pricing structure consists of two components: a monthly service package and a 90% refundable entrance fee.*

The monthly service package bundles the costs of utilities, maintenance, including repair and replacement of appliances, a meal plan at on-site restaurants, Wi-Fi, phone, and cable services, regularly scheduled transportation, and more, into one predictable bill.
"It's nice to have most of our expenses included in the monthly fee," Bev says. "Knowing the amount in advance helps us budget our income."
For Bev and Greg, the freedom from costly and unpredictable home expenses has been a tremendous relief.
"Just one phone call to the General Services [team] and someone is here to take care of the problem. There is no need for Greg to get on a ladder to change a ceiling light bulb," she explains. "Plus, you don't need to be in your apartment when work is being done."
'Peace of mind'
The couple's financial stability is further strengthened by the industry-leading, 90% refundable entrance fee--the heart of the community's pricing structure. The entrance fee, collected as part of the residency process, will go back to you or your beneficiaries if or when you leave the community.
"Knowing that 90% of our entrance [fee] would be refunded to us or go to our estate was a definite plus," notes Bev.
Windsor Run's continuum of care has provided Bev and Greg with additional stability. Should one or both of their health care needs change in the future, they can receive the support they need right on campus at the continuing care neighborhood.
"That really provides wonderful peace of mind," says Bev. "We do not have children, so it is comforting to know that we will be cared for here at Windsor Run. Our families are happy to see that we have our future care needs satisfied."
So much to gain
Without the stress and hassle of home maintenance, residents like Bev and Greg have more time to pursue their hobbies--especially since access to the community's amenities is also included in the monthly service package.
Windsor Run boasts an expansive fitness center, library, creative arts studio, putting green, dog park, salon and spa, woodshop, bocce courts, and dozens of clubs and activities.
Bev plays weekly games of Rummikub and mah-jongg, while Greg plays poker and golfs with the Windsor Run men's golf group.
Windsor Run continues to reinvest in its amenities and services, ensuring residents enjoy the best value--now and in the future. Over the last several years, the community has opened three new residence buildings and added Carolina Hall, a 250-seat performing arts space, as well as a new pickleball court.
"At Windsor Run, we are committed to providing not just a beautiful place to live, but true value for our residents," says Executive Director Michael Wehrle.
The right move
Reflecting on their journey to Windsor Run, Bev and Greg are confident that moving to the community--when they did--was the right decision.
"Once we decided Windsor Run would be our next home, we thought it would be at least a year or two before we would actually be ready to make the move," recalls Bev. "But, as luck would have it, an apartment became available that was perfect for us, and we decided to just do it! We are so glad we did."
Now, they're making the most of their retirement years.
"Having friends to meet with and discuss interests is very positive," says Bev. "Participating in an activity is great, but the opportunity to talk and share daily experiences with others is even better."
She adds, "We are so glad we made the move. It was a great financial decision!"
