UNCC Shooting Victim Remembered As 'Quiet,' 'Smart'
Ellis Parlier, 19, was one of the two victims killed in the shooting at the University of North Carolina Charlotte on Tuesday.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The 19-year-old student killed in the shooting at the University of North Carolina Charlotte was described as being "super funny" and "super smart," according to a report.
Ellis Parlier, of Midland, was one of the two victims of the shooting. The second victim, 21-year-old Riley Howell, fought the shooter and saved lives by sacrifcing his own. Parlier graduated from the Central Academy of Technology and Arts in Monroe in 2017.

Madison Clevenger, 20, who went to high school with Parlier told BuzzFeed News that Parlier was a "really quiet guy" and was "super smart."

"But whenever he did say something, it was always something super funny and super random," Clevenger told the publication. "Everyone was like, 'Where did this guy come from?!'"
According to BuzzFeed, Parlier won awards in high school for his IT skills. At the school, Parlier's studies were focused on information technology and computer technology.

Flags outside Parlier's former high school flew at half-staff in his memory Wednesday.
