Reminder: Catch 'Purple Rain' at the Cedar Lee Tonight

To honor Prince, the Cedar Lee will show "Purple Rain," everyone attending is encouraged to wear purple.

The movie that kicked off Prince's rise to super-stardom and won an Oscar for Best Music, Original Song Score will be showing at the Cedar Lee next week.

Purple Rain, starring the late Prince was released in 1984, the album soundtrack also won a Grammy.

The Cedar Lee will be showing Purple Rain next Thursday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. admission is $6. Advance tickets are on sale now.

“We’ve shown PURPLE RAIN a few times over the years as part of the Melt Bar & Grilled Late Shift Series,” says David Huffman, Cleveland Cinemas Director of Marketing and Late Shift programmer. “It’s a film that captured Prince at the height of his career and I can’t think of a better way to pay tribute to this legendary performer than to bring it back to the big screen.”

Prince died on Thursday and people everywhere have been honoring the music icon with various tributes, the Terminal Tower in Cleveland was lit purple on Thursday night.

The Cedar Lee is located at 2163 Lee Rd, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118

Those attending are encouraged to wear purple.
