Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins Pay Tribute to Prince

The Tribe and the Twins pay tribute to Prince with donation to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The Indians announced today that they were making a donation from Monday's Prince tribute game against the Twins to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

We're sending lineup cards, wristbands & photos from Monday's Prince tribute vs. @Twins to the Rock and Roll HOF.

The Twins were on the road when news of fellow Minnesotan Prince's untimely death broke. Target Field was lit in Purple and the Twins promised a proper tribute when they returned for their homestand on Monday against the Cleveland Indians. (see how Cleveland lit up the skies for Prince)

The tribute included the release of seven white doves before first pitch, (see video below) players selecting Prince songs for walkup music and players wearing purple sweatbands. The Twins also announced that Little Red Corvette would be played at the seventh inning stretch for the rest of the season at Target Field according to Rolling Stone.

The tribute ended with with a walk-off homer giving the home team a win. Perfect. (The Twins took the series 2-1).
