Extreme Heat, Thunderstorms Possible Tuesday In Northern Ohio
Damaging thunderstorms may form in parts of the region as temperatures climb into the 90s.
CLEVELAND — Extreme heat and isolated thunderstorms could develop in northern Ohio on Tuesday, the National Weather Service warned.
Temperatures could rise into the low 90s, the agency said. Heat indices could hit 100 in parts of Northwest Ohio, especially if cloud cover dissipates by the afternoon.
In Northeast Ohio, thunderstorms could move through the area in the afternoon or evening. The storms could bring heavy rainfall and powerful, damaging wind gusts.

"Heavy rainfall with these thunderstorms may also lead to localized flooding," the National Weather Service warned.
With temperatures expected to remain in the upper 80s or low 90s throughout the work week, additional thunderstorms could form on Wednesday and Thursday. The possibility for "strong" and "severe" storms is strong, the National Weather Service said.

If storms don't form, heat indices could approach 100 again, making for extremely hot conditions in northern Ohio.
"Thunderstorms may also become strong to severe on Friday, ahead of a cold front, as well," the agency said.
