Federal Judge Prevents Ohio From Defunding Planned Parenthood
A federal judge has stopped Ohio from implementing a new law that would defund Planned Parenthood.

A federal judge in Cincinnati has granted a temporary restraining order preventing a new law from taking over a million dollars away from Planned Parenthood on the same day the law was supposed to take effect, reports wvxu.org.
Iris Harvey, President and CEO of Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio, says the law would take money away for cancer screenings, HIV tests and birth control, that many low income women who don’t have other options rely on.
“We think this ruling is a victory for our patients in Ohio,” Harvey said.

However, Mike Gonadakis, President of Ohio Right to Life, thinks that the ruling somehow hurts women that could be getting the same services at community clinics.
The temporary restraining order is in effect until June 6th.
