Grand Opening of Cleveland Fire Station Slated for Saturday, Parade to Follow

The new Cleveland fire station will have both fire rescue and EMS services.

Mayor Frank G. Jackson and council members Zack Reed, Matt Zone and Ken Johnson will join with the Division of Fire for the grand opening of Fire Station 36 on Saturday, May 14th.

According to a statement released by the city, this will be the first fire station built in Cleveland in more than a decade and the first fire station to house both fire and EMS operations.

Festivities will begin with a parade at 12:15 p.m. from the old Fire Station 36 at 3720 East 131st Street to the new one at 3552 East 131st Street.

Following the dedication ceremony, Councilman Reed will dedicate a free-standing plaque in front of the station, honoring long-time former Council members George Forbes and Mary Zone.
