IKEA Breaks Ground for New Store Two Hours From Cleveland
The 355,000-square foot Swedish furniture/Swedish meatball restaurant is slated to open in summer 2017.
Cleveland came close to getting an IKEA, but things didn't quite work out.
There is good news though! IKEA has broken ground on their newest Swedish furniture/Swedish meatball restaurant only 122 miles away in Columbus, Ohio.
The 355,000-square foot store will open next summer according to a statement. The new store will be located in a spot that was once the home of Germain Amphitheater which hosted shows such as Ozzfest and Vans Warped Tour.

IKEA seems to like the location though:
"This location will help bring the unique IKEA family-friendly shopping experience closer to many Columbus-area customers who currently can shop only at Ikea stores elsewhere or online," Lars Petersson, IKEA U.S. president, said in a statement.
