1) Myles Garrett, the Browns player about to set a team record for flipping quarterbacks, drove his Porsche off Route 18 and flipped the sports car several times Monday afternoon after leaving practice in Berea. State troopers were dispatched to State Road near Ridgewood Road in Medina County at about 3 p.m. for the single-car accident. Garrett, who stands 6-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 274 pounds, was on his way home to Medina in his gray 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S. A female passenger was in the car.

  • Garrett was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center. The woman was taken to Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital. Both Garrett and the passenger suffered injuries which are not life-threatening but additional information was unknown as of Monday evening.
  • The State Highway Patrol says Garrett was wearing a seat belt, was not impaired by drugs or alcohol and was alert when troopers found him. The car sustained extensive damage and the airbags inside were deployed.
  • Garrett's agent, Nicole Lynn, issued a statement on Twitter: "The Garrett family would like to thank the medical personnel that got Myles and his passenger out of the vehicle and safely transported to the hospital."
  • Garrett needs one more quarterback sack to break the club record of 62. He may miss Sunday's game in Atlanta.

2) Marvel Studios will be filming scenes for a movie in Cleveland this November, and you can apply to be an extra in the film. "Blade," starring Mahershala Ali, Delroy Lindo and Aaron Pierre, is based on a comic-book vampire superhero. Marvel previously filmed scenes for an "Avengers" movie and a "Captain America" flick in Cleveland. The filmmakers are looking for "all types" as extras.

3) Cleveland Chocolate Co. won five awards in an International Chocolate Awards competition for artisan chocolate makers. The Tremont chocolatier turned fine cacao pods into chocolate bars, competing against some of the world's best. “I honestly didn’t know what to expect and am still shocked I even placed. The awards and feedback associated with the awards really validate what we are doing here at CCC," owner Rebecca Hess told reporter Paris Wolfe.

4) Three armed and masked teen-agers were able to enter a Cleveland high school earlier this month — despite security guards putting the building into lockdown and calling 911 — because two assistant principals let them inside. The armed teens were confined to a vestibule at Garrett Morgan High School where the inner doors were locked even though security guards could be heard on the 911 call yelling, "Do not let them in the building." Police arrived quickly and arrested the three teens.

5) The playoff-bound Cleveland Guardians are getting some grief for a photo the team tweeted last week prior to their final road trip, which included a series in Chicago. The photo shows a bunch of rookies in jailhouse garb, complete with ball-and-chain shackles. Forcing the rookies into embarrassing costumes as the season draws to a close is a tradition in baseball. But NBC Sports Chicago took issue with the photo shoot, saying it was in "questionable" taste. Some woke wags on Twitter agreed.

  • Toothy grins: "Nikolai may have a smile to make an orthodontist weep, but we think it only adds to his charm. Nikolai is a velveteen mush with springs in his feet, with his exuberance for life spilling into gleeful bounces while he's on walk. But with a little chance to burn off some energy, Nikolai shows that he is a sweetheart who is eager to please. He can sit well for treats and seems like he could be housebroken. Nikolai is also super affectionate and will wiggle and lean himself all over you in the hope of pets. Fortunately he is oh-so-soft so you'll want to pet him all day.
