Congratulations to high school students from Patch cities Avon, Beachwood, Cleveland Heights, Lakewood, Shaker Heights, Solon, and Westlake.

Nearly 100 high school students from Ohio have been awarded $2,500 National Merit Scholarships.

The number of winners in Ohio - as in each state - are proportional to the state’s percentage of the nation’s graduating high school seniors.

According to the foundation that awards the grants, the students are those “judged to have the strongest combination of accomplishments, skills, and potential for success in rigorous college studies.”
