• East Cleveland swears in new mayor amid financial challenges (cleveland19.com) — East Cleveland has sworn in Sandra Morgan as its first elected woman mayor, taking office as the city remains in long-term financial emergency and under state receivership. Morgan, a former interim mayor, says she’s working closely with Ohio’s auditor to untangle decades of fiscal trouble and find sustainable new revenue, promising residents that “brighter days are ahead” as she starts work immediately.
