The ruling supports Mayor Justin Bibb’s rapid closure order and affirms the administration’s authority to act quickly on public safety concerns tied to nightlife in the Flats.

Woman's quest for spiritual healing leads her to gold: Mayfield Heights Police Blotter (cleveland.com) — Mayfield Heights police are investigating a costly spiritual-healing scam reported by an East Cleveland woman and several theft and domestic cases involving Cleveland-area residents. From a $12,000 gold-bar purchase at Costco to arrests of Cleveland suspects at local stores and apartments, the blotter highlights recent crime patterns affecting nearby communities.
   

3. Cleveland Heights' second mayor is officially sworn in (news5cleveland.com) — Cleveland Heights has officially sworn in its second-ever mayor, Jim Petras, who is promising a fresh start after the recall of former mayor Kahlil Seren and a year of political turmoil. Petras is prioritizing overdue financial audits, better road resurfacing, and improvements to parks and the community center as he begins working closely with a newly seated city council.
   

4. Cleveland City Council sworn in with 15 members, smallest size since 1800s (wkyc.com) — Cleveland City Council has officially begun its new term with just 15 members, the smallest council since the 1800s, after ward boundaries were redrawn based on 2020 Census data. Residents will now be represented under a new 15-ward map, with Blaine Griffin remaining council president and three new members joining the body. Mayor Justin Bibb also starts his second term in office.
   

5. Cavs' TV deal in limbo as FanDuel parent falls behind on NBA payments (crainscleveland.com) — Cleveland Cavaliers fans could see changes to how games are televised as FanDuel Sports Network’s parent, Main Street Sports Group, falls behind on NBA rights payments and considers winding down operations. The Cavs’ roughly $34 million annual TV deal may revert back to the team, which already runs Rock Entertainment Sports Network with local partners WOIO and WUAB to air select games.
