Police Seek Public's Help in Identifying Man Wanted for Abduction of 6 Year-Old

She was taken from her home on May 21.

Cleveland Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the person wanted for the abduction 6-year-old Nevaeh Wylie.

Wylie was seen around 4 a.m. on May 21st and was reported missing to police at about 2:30 p.m. Officers engaged in an extensive search, canvassing the neighborhood and utilizing canine and helicopter searches. The Federal Bureau of Investigation partnered with police early in the investigation

Around 9:30 p.m., Wylie was found at a home in the 13800 block of Lyric Avenue. The 6-year-old girl was taken to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital for medical examination. She remains in the hospital.

The Department of Children and Family Services is also investigating.

Police said she had been taken from the downstairs unit of the home by a white man. She was kept by the suspect throughout the day and was dropped off in the area of West 140th Street and Lyric Avenue around 9 p.m.

Detectives and agents continue to canvass the neighborhood for witnesses and are in the process of reviewing video that may have recorded the incident.
