Thunderstorms, Showers Possible Sunday In Northern Ohio

Sunny skies could give way to brief bursts of lightning and rain, according to the National Weather Service.

CLEVELAND — There is a chance for thunderstorms and showers on Sunday, the National Weather Service announced.

Storms and showers are most likely before 5 p.m., the National Weather Service. Showers are more likely than thunderstorms, with a 70-percent chance of precipitation before Sunday evening.

There is also a moderate risk of riptides developing in Lake Erie on Sunday, so swimmers should be extremely cautious if visiting the beach.

Any inclement weather should be gone by Monday.

While Sunday could be soggy, the coming work week should be sunny, dry and warm, according to current forecasts. There is little chance of rain Monday through Friday, and temperatures will climb out of the mid-70s and into the mid-80s before week's end.

Temperatures could fluctuate as much as 20 degrees during the week, with highs in the 80s and overnight lows in the 60s.
