World Water Day Poster Contest Announced

From Public Square, Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District: World Water Day 2017 is Wednesday, March 22nd. The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is teaming up with the Public Square Programming and Operations team to announce a poster contest for area students.

THEME: Draw a poster that illustrates how you or your family enjoy Lake Erie or other local waterways.
Lake Erie is a vital source of water for people who live in northeast Ohio and the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District is spreading the word about protecting local water sources.

CONTEST: Open to eligible area students (as outlined in official rules)

Grand Prizes: $100 Barnes & Noble Gift Card + Pizza Party for your classroom
Runner-Up: $50 Barnes & Noble Gift Card.

Prizes will be given out for three age groups:

• Kinderagrten-2nd Grade
• 3rd – 6th Grade
• 7th – 8th Grade

Entry Period: March, 22nd – April 7th 2017

How to Enter: Ask your teacher or parent to mail your poster to the following address. All entries due by April 7th at 5pm.

Winners: Winning entries will be announced on April 11th during the “Return of the Fountains” event in Public Square. Teachers or parents will be notified before April 12th.


World Water Day Poster Contest
Official Rules

In celebration of World Water Day, Public Square Programming and Operations and the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District are sponsoring a poster contest.

The contest will commence on Wednesday, March 22 and continue until Tuesday, April 11, 2017. Entries are due by 5 PM on Friday, April 7.

The contest is open to students in grade Kindergarten through 8 in the following counties:

Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull and Wayne.

No purchase is necessary to enter.

In celebration of World Water Day, Public Square Programming and Operations and the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District are sponsoring a poster contest.

To enter, students will design a poster representing “how you or your family enjoy Lake Erie or other local waterways.”

Posters should be sized between 11’ x 17” and 22” x 28”.

Posters must be mailed to Public Square, 50 Public Square, Suite 803, Cleveland, OH 44113 and must be postmarked by Friday, April 7 at 5 PM.

Winning entries will be announced on Tuesday, April 11 during the Return of the Fountains event in Public Square. Teachers and parents will be notified of winners by Wednesday, April 12.

Only one entry per student is permitted. Entrants must identify their age/grade level on their poster to participate.

Students will compete in the following grade levels:

Kindergarten to 2nd grade, 3rd to 6th grade and 7 to 8th grade.

Posters will be judged on clarity of message, use of art to represent an idea and overall creativity.
One grand prize and (1) second prize winner will be selected in each of the above grade level categories.

Each of the three grand prize winners will receive a $100 Barnes and Noble Gift Card and a Pizza Party for the student’s classroom.

Each of the second-place winners will receive a $50 Barnes and Noble Gift Card.

All second place and grand prize entries will be displayed in Public Square throughout the summer and showcased on clevelandpublicsquare.com.
