Ohio Connections Academy Recognizes Dayton Student

COLUMBUS, OH – Iliza Voris, of Dayton, was recently named one of Ohio Connections Academy’s (OCA) Star Students of the Month for May in recognition of her hard work and leadership in the online classroom.

Iliza, a third grader at the statewide online public charter school, was nominated by her teacher, Mrs. Spreng, because of her hard work and the positive attitude she always brings to class.

As a Star Student, Iliza will be presented a certificate recognizing her achievement and be profiled in Ohio Connections Academy’s student newsletter and on the school’s social media platforms. Each month during the school year OCA will recognize students in grades K through 12 who are excelling in the virtual classroom.

Iliza was enrolled in Ohio Connections Academy this year to be in a learning environment that offered the flexibility to work at her own schedule. Iliza said her favorite subject is math because she enjoys working with numbers and shapes. She also appreciates how nice and helpful her teachers have been.

“I love Ohio Connections Academy because it's a great school and I've learned a lot of things here,” she Ssaid. “I mange my schedule by not getting behind in anything and splitting my time up evenly.”
