Dayton man indicted in stabbing death of boyfriend on Elsmere Avenue (wdtn.com) — A Dayton man has been indicted in connection with the fatal stabbing of his boyfriend at an Elsmere Street apartment, a case now moving through Montgomery County court. Senator's visit highlights United Grinding's apprenticeship efforts (daytondailynews.com) — United Grinding North America in Miamisburg is drawing attention for an apprenticeship program that pays full wages, covers Sinclair Community College tuition, and is praised by the Dayton Foundation’s Employers Workforce Coalition. With applications surging from 60 to 150 in a year, state leaders say the effort shows how Dayton-area manufacturers can grow their own skilled workforce and boost long-term job security.
   

5. Community support helps local nonprofit bring shoes and hope to children (dayton247now.com) — A Miami Valley nonprofit called Just A Pair Of Shoes is expanding its work helping local kids thanks to major donations from Reynolds and Reynolds and 100+ Men Who Care About Dayton. Founder Matt Cline and new board member Maggie Paxson-Collins, whose father starred at the University of Dayton, say the group has already provided about 3,000 pairs of shoes and plans to reach even more children next year.
