  1. The American Countess made its annual stop in Marietta while on its way to Pittsburgh this past weekend. Each year the American Countess departs Louisville for a trip to Pittsburgh that usually takes a week to complete, and will typically make a local stop along the Ohio River. Many community members and local spectators from surrounding areas fill the docks to witness the marvel of this historic, six-deck tall boat in action. (WTAP)
  2. The Washington County Fair is officially making its way back to the fairgrounds from Saturday, Sep. 2 to Tuesday, Sep. 5. The event's kick-off typically features their annual parade that goes right down the historic streets of the town, and will feature a variety of different animals, decorations, floats, and entertainment. In addition, the fair will host a Pie Baking Contest that will feature bakers of all ages and pies of different textures, flavors, tastes, and appearances. (The Times Leader)
  3. Two high school seniors from Frontier High School have been selected to receive scholarships from the Frontier Alumni Association. Both of the scholarships were presented by President Jeff Beaver at the 19th annual Frontier High School Senior Awards Program, which took place late last month.
