  1. The Marietta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a one-vehicle fatal crash in Morgan County on Jun. 25. According to officers, a 1999 Ford Escort was on County Route 2 when he tried to make a U-turn which caused him to strike a tree. He was then transported to Marietta Memorial Hospital, where he died.   2. The WP Snyder was constructed in 1918 as a transportation vessel to haul coal barges to and from coal mines and coke mills. This historical artifact was in use for several years before it was retired. Now, the ship sits on display at the Campus Martius Museum in Marietta. (WTAP)
  3. The Humane Society of the Ohio Valley located in Marietta is partnering with Rescue Rebuild, a part of Greater Good Charities, to help domestic violence victims maintain contact with their pets. The project involves creating four special rooms in a separate building where victims from the domestic violence shelter can spend time with their pets in a safe environment. The rooms will be equipped with furniture, temperature controls, pet doors, and outdoor enclosures, providing a healing space for both humans and animals. (Subscription: Marietta Times)
