  1. On Friday, May 26, a memorial service took place at Mound Cemetery, led by the Marietta Chapter Ohio Society Sons of the American Revolution, to honor the Revolutionary War patriots buried there, including notable figures like General Rufus Putnam and Commodore Abraham Whipple. The cemetery holds the highest number of American Revolutionary War officer burials in the country, with 37 soldiers honored during the service. Representatives from various organizations, such as Daughters of the American Revolution and Children of the American Revolution, joined the event alongside the public, all recognizing the compelling legacy of the American Revolution's patriots. 2. Ohio Heritage, in collaboration with Buckeye Hills Regional Council, organized an educational workshop focused on revitalizing downtowns and fostering thriving communities using the Main Street approach. The workshop provided insights into community revitalization's significance in enhancing pride and quality of life. One of the workshop components highlighted certified local governments, while another delved into the Federal and State Historic Preservation Tax Credit programs for rehabilitating historic buildings, with the aim of leveraging Ohio's valuable old buildings as assets to drive economic growth and enhance community well-being.
