- Although the Marietta College Baseball team lost seven starters and two top pitchers from last year's team, the team is chugging forward with only two wins standing in their way of returning to the Divison III College World Series. With a 37-11 winning streak, Marietta gets ready to host Misericordia for a best-of-three Super Regional. The series begins Friday, with Game 1 scheduled for noon at the Don and Sue Schaly Field at Pioneer Park. (News And Sentinel)
- The Ohio River Trail is the talk of the town in Marietta, as the project gets postponed to "no later than mid-July," according to a Marietta City Engineer. The Ohio River Trail originally opened in October 2019 before a collapse occurred in June 2020, causing the trail to be unusable for pedestrians and bicyclists. According to the City's engineer's office, the cost to repair the trail has risen to $1,687,000 to date. (Marietta Times)
- Marietta Memorial Health System has enacted a "Live Memorial Well" community partner plan to help residents nourish a healthy life's physical, mental, and emotional aspects. Live Memorial Well is a 100 percent plant-based program that uses limited oil, salt, and sugar. Eating this way has been reported to improve blood pressure, sugar, and cholesterol levels.
