  1. The Mid-Ohio Valley Freedom Ride, a popular event for motorcycle riders and veterans, had over 160 participants this past weekend. The ride was organized by the Washington County Veterans Service Commission to support local veterans' organizations. This year's beneficiary is the Washington County Veterans Mobility Project, which strives to enhance the quality of life for veterans and their families. The event concluded with a celebratory gathering at American Legion Post 64, featuring music and a delightful cookout, creating a memorable experience for all involved. (WTAP)
  2. During a Saturday afternoon event, the Civil War Round Table introduced the public to the Charlotte Scott marker. Charlotte Scott, a former enslaved resident of Marietta, was recognized as a supporter of Abraham Lincoln and played a role in shaping society.
