  1. The O’Neill Center has received a national grant from the National Council on Aging to promote vaccinations for older adults. The grant will be used to provide trusted information, support transportation to vaccine appointments, and host vaccine clinics in the coming weeks. O’Neill Center Director Connie Huntsman emphasized the importance of vaccines in protecting the health of the vulnerable population in Washington County. (Subscription: Marietta Times)

Marietta Memorial Hospital has filed a lawsuit against WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center and the West Virginia University Health System, alleging that they supported the filing of false complaints that resulted in doctors refusing to work for Memorial. The suit claims that former executives and a physician affiliated with Camden Clark made false accusations against Memorial, knowing that they were untrue and with the backing of some leaders at Camden Clark and WVU Hospitals. Memorial Hospital is seeking compensatory, consequential, and punitive damages in the lawsuit. (Parkersburg News & Sentinel)

Marietta high school seniors Kiera Starcher, Abby Miller, and Shelby Wagner have been recognized by the Kiwanis Club of Marietta with scholarships for their academic achievements and service contributions. Kiera received the Lester E. Noe Scholarship for her outstanding GPA and dedication to the Key Club, while Abby and Shelby received scholarships for their involvement in Key Club and various leadership roles in school. These students have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their education and community, and they have bright futures ahead as they pursue higher studies and careers in fields like biology, physical therapy, and healthcare.
